Reporting to: Head of Careers within Commercial Team
Location: Glasgow/Edinburgh

Our mission is to bridge the digital skills gap in Scotland by supplying the industry with a pipeline of professionally trained, job-ready graduates. We do this by providing the highest standard of SQA approved education throughout our campuses, and connecting the graduates with our employer partners ready to hire. CodeClan has evolved its fulltime and immersive courses to ensure there is an appropriate balance of technical and soft skills that meets the requirements of our partner network who are looking for job ready graduates.

The core purpose of your role

Key duties

  • Supporting and empowering students to manage their job hunt and new career
  • Coaching students through change, barriers to the workplace and barriers to learning
  • Developing strong relationships with students and graduates to ensure they feel supported and valued
  • Working closely with the student services team, the delivery team and partner team to ensure a constant flow of communication regarding students progress and wellbeing
  • To engage directly with graduating students and alumni to support their ongoing job search and transition from the course
  • Delivering and facilitating career and student services sessions
  • Updating CRM systems with relevant data regarding students post course destinations
  • Co-ordinating speed hiring and speed networking events

Attributes we need

  • A sound and comprehensive understanding of the particular challenges and barriers that career changers might face
  • Interest and or knowledge of the tech sector and or a willingness to learn
    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills
    Excellent people skills with the ability to build professional, long-term relationships
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is adaptable and able to prioritise effectively
  • A passion for supporting people and in particular, an understanding of the value and impact mentoring can have
  • Confidence delivering workshops virtually and face to face

Your experience

  • Experience working with and supporting a diverse range of people ideally in an educational setting
  • Demonstrable relationship management experience with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
  • Experience in accurate record keeping – experience using a CRM (customer relationship management)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
    Experience delivering training would be advantageous
  • Experience working with ASN individuals would be advantageous

Qualifications

Career coaching or coaching qualifications and experience would be useful but are not essential. Knowledge of mental health issues and disabilities along with barriers to learning which might impact learning and development. 

Salary: £26k – £28k
