CodeClan is an award-winning digital skills academy delivering cutting-edge technology training to a wide range of individuals and organisations across Scotland.

Initially set up with the support of the Scottish Government, Skills Development Scotland and ScotlandIS in 2015, CodeClan is a not for profit social enterprise whose mission is to bridge the digital skills gap in Scotland. You will be working with a fast pace, vibrant team across our campuses in Edinburgh and Glasgow, plus our remote cohorts that span the UK.

We are looking for a professional individual to join our Student Services Team as the learning support coordinator to make sure all students are as successful as they can be while they study with us. Working with the Student Services Team and Delivery Team, this role is crucial to our students’ learning experience at CodeClan.

Team Description

The Learning Support Team supports, empowers, and equips our students with the tools to make the most out of their learning while studying with us. The Learning Support Team is the first point of contact for all students for matters related to their wellbeing and learning. Specifically, the team works in four main areas to provide this support:

  • Coordinates Reasonable Adjustments for students who declare Additional Support Needs, puts into place tailored support, ensures agreed adjustments are met, and monitors the impact and effectiveness of these.
  • Ensures successful learning is at the heart of the course by delivering the Successful Learning Lessons Series. This provides students with tools relevant to each stage of the course and with a safe space to explore each of the topics.
  • Provides one-to-one coaching to students to help them identify blockers and find solutions. This informs the instructor team about the type of in-class support each student needs.
  • Empowers students as learners and professionals by providing students monthly workshops and talks by expert professionals in areas related to work performance, physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, equality and diversity, inclusiveness and neurodivergent learning.

About the role

Key focus areas for this role will include:

  • Onboarding of all students by monitoring their pre-coursework and processing their additional support needs disclosure
  • Support communication between teams and team members to ensure information is passed on effectively
  • Learning Support record keeping: keeping appropriate records of support provided to students and sharing these with relevant members of staff
  • Supporting delivery of the successful learning series presentations to students
  • Assisting in one-to-one student support
  • Contribute to the continual development of the Learning Support Offering, including expanding and diversifying our offer, approach, and processes, including in the neurodiverse learning space
  • Build trusting and constructive relationships with the Delivery team, the Student Services team, Students and the wider CodeClan team
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of growth and positive learning on campus and remotely
  • Supporting Glasgow office administration and the campus atmosphere

This role will be based at our Glasgow Campus with occasional need to travel to our Edinburgh campus.
