Thanks to our Professional Software Development course in Glasgow and Edinburgh and our Web Development course in Inverness, you have an opportunity to immerse yourself in a challenging training environment, get introduced to some of the most exciting and innovative companies in Scotland’s tech industry and kick-start a career you love.

Here’s a timeline for achieving that goal

1. Get your application in for our next Glasgow, Edinburgh or Highland cohorts.

Training starts in Glasgow Monday 31st August, Edinburgh on Monday 7th September and Highlands (through our virtual classroom) on Monday 12th October.

If your application is successful, we’ll get in touch with you to arrange an interview.

If you’d like to learn more about what makes a successful application, you can read advice from our Admission Manager here.

2. Meet your cohort and get up to speed

Three weeks before your cohort begins training, you’ll get the chance to meet your cohort, get set up with your laptop and then get cracking with your pre-course work.

Your pre-course work will get you familiar with the basic terminology related to software development, understand some basic concepts and ensure you’re comfortable with navigating the development environment of a Mac.

3. Begin your training

Start your training at CodeClan – during your course you’ll immerse yourself in technologies like JavaScript, Java, SQL, React, methodologies used by digital businesses and a host of career support and holistic training opportunities.

4. Start preparing for your next career move

During the course you’ll have access to our coaching sessions and careers focused workshops designed to help you complete your training with a new technically focused profile which promotes your new skills whilst showcasing your transferable experience. You’ll get guidance on preparing for interviews and what value-add employers are looking for, how to utilise your soft skills in combination with your new technical skills and you’ll also have the chance to gain valuable insights and meet key figures within the Scottish digital scene at our Industry Talks.

5. Graduation time!

The Glasgow cohort graduation takes place on 14th December, Edinburgh on 8th January 2021 and Highlands (virtual) on 15th January 2021.

You’ll have learned an immense amount about tools, technologies and techniques used in software development plus how to learn effectively, and thrive in an industry setting. You’ll have completed projects, heard from key figures in the industry and will be ready to take the next step in your career.
