Group learning at CodeClan

Spring into coding this April with our new evening classes

New season, new courses.

Spring is a time of new beginnings, which is why we’re launching a new series of short evening courses that will get you coding at an accelerated rate.

Condensing our previous 10-week evening courses into five weeks means you can learn twice as fast and get a chance to feel the intensive, immersive quality of our training here.

Learn the basics

If you’ve always wanted to learn code from the ground up, our Intro to Programming course is a great start. Classes focus on learning the core concepts and principles of OO programming using Ruby, a general-purpose (and easy to learn) language.

Running each Tuesday and Thursday from 11th April – 11th May, you can learn the basics of coding in a month and no prior coding experience is necessary.

Try Python

If you’re thinking long-term about being able use and manipulate data in your programs, you might want to try our self-paced Python course.

Running each Tuesday and Thursday from 25th April to 23rd May, this course will give you the chance to learn one of the most popular programming languages at speed, through expert lectures and online materials with one-to-one support from a professional Python developer. Instructor Andy Buchan explains why you should take the plunge into Python.

Keen to build your own website?

Our first Intro to Front-End Web Development course was hugely popular and we’re expecting this second course to fill up fast. It’s the perfect starting point for those interested in learning to code through HTML/CSS and JavaScript interface. We’ve added in some key UX principles this time to get you really thinking about your users as much as your code.

Build your own app

New this April is our Web Application Development evening course, running on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10th April to 10th May. A natural follow-on from the Front-End Web Development course, this will get you coding with JavaScript in the browser to build the back-end of your website or mobile app.

Courses are taught by web development professionals in our friendly and supportive environment.

Coding for Professionals

We also offer courses to the business community and our unique Coding for Professionals three-day course is a perfect start allowing non-coders to explore the tools, techniques and terminology used by digital teams. You’ll build a simple web application from start to finish over the three days and really get your head into the programming mindset.

In addition, as a CodeClan student, you’ll have the opportunity to attend regular industry talks, tech meet-ups and our sociable networking events.

Get in touch to find out more about any of our courses, or come along to one of our free info sessions to learn more.
