This year we’re seeing more course places, more graduates and more Employer Partners in Glasgow. Here are six Glasgow-based CodeClan partners you should know about.
At CodeClan Glasgow we opened doors to our first group of students in January 2017. Since then three Glasgow cohorts have completed – with our fourth underway – and by the end of 2018 another 80 CodeClan graduates will have gone through our Professional Software Development course in the city.
The majority of our students come to us as career changers and are actively seeking a new job in the tech sector. A hugely important part of this is our strong community of Glasgow-based industry partners. To date, almost fifty organisations in Glasgow have committed to CodeClan’s Partnership Programme. Meet six of them below:
Castlight are an innovative Fintech company who provide financial businesses with digital tools to enhance the way they do business with their customers. This includes providing insight into customers’ spending patterns to provide a faster, clearer and fairer assessment of financial wellbeing and credit affordability. They’ve recently hired three of our Glasgow graduates, including Hayley from G3, as part of their ambitious growth plans.

Verint are a global organisation specialising in customer engagement and cyber intelligence. They’ve recently hired two graduates from our third Glasgow cohort (G3), one a tester and the other a developer.
Scottish Friendly Assurance
Since being founded over 150 years ago, Scottish Friendly have grown to become one of the largest mutual life offices in the UK. As another organisation looking to grow their development capability, they hired two of our G3 graduates.
Providers of an advanced, modular web platform for telecoms resellers, The Layer became partners as CodeClan’s second Glasgow cohort was completing the course. After meeting the students at our Speed Networking event they hired a graduate from that cohort.
One of our first Glasgow partners, Firefish have been on board since April 2017. Providers of recruitment software they hired a graduate from our first Glasgow cohort into a front-end development role and he’s been successfully swimming in the Fishtank since.
One of our more recent partners, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest regional transport partnership in Scotland and responsible for Glasgow’s subway and numerous specialist bus services. With a remit that includes smart ticketing, subway modernisation and demand-responsive bus services, it’s fair to say that technology plays a major role in what they do.
