Delve into data science with R programming

posted by

Businesses are clamouring for data science skills. Here’s your opportunity to meet that demand.

The R programming language is an increasingly important tool for companies engaged in data analysis, statistical modelling and visualisation.

Many of the world’s largest technology companies, including Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Twitter use R for tasks including behaviour analysis, advertising effectiveness, semantic clustering and financial forecasting.

Learn R programming at CodeClan

Taking place at our Edinburgh campus on the 12th October and again on the 16th November, our Intro to R Programming course requires no prior knowledge of the language and acts as a perfect gateway for follow-on courses which offer more in-depth training in aspects including programming, visualisation, machine-learning and data carpentry.

The course has been designed to appeal to all industry sectors and ensures that every participant will be able to:

  • Navigate the R interface in an efficient way
  • Import and export data from spreadsheets/other data storage to R
  • Summarise the data with R’s built in summary statistic functions
  • Plot data in interesting ways
  • Manipulate data and analyse data

Data modelling and visualisation skills

Created with and delivered by data science training experts, Jumping Rivers, the Intro to R programming course has been created to enable participants from every industry – academia to commercial – to gain practical understanding and tangible skills in data modelling and visualisation. After the introductory course, the follow-on options are:

  • Data Carpentry (23rd Nov 2018)
  • Programming (30th Nov 2018)
  • Visualisation (7th Dec 2018)
  • Machine Learning (14th Dec 2018)

All of the courses can be booked online here and discounts are available when two or more courses are booked at the same time, or for three or more tickets are purchased.
