We’ve had a busy start to 2017, with our new Glasgow campus welcoming its first cohort of students to our intensive coding course. We’ve now introduced 200 passionate, committed individuals to Scotland’s digital industry.
With hundreds more due to enter the sector through CodeClan in 2017, we’re continuing to expand our employer community to ensure their hiring needs are met through our diverse student cohorts.
Here are three recent additions to the CodeClan community.
Scottish Sea Farms
Employing more than 400 staff around the country, Scottish Sea Farms is a pioneering aquaculture company and leading producer of high quality Scottish salmon through innovation, best practice, and strong fish husbandry.
The aquaculture sector is increasingly reliant on technology as it strives to maintain the sustainability of Scottish salmon. SSF generates masses of data every day and signed up to Codeclan to have access to our students to help develop applications that will analyse and present their data to influence decision making.
According to David Anderson, Head of IT at SSF, they “signed up to CodeClan in recognition of the quality of graduate coming through the programme, with many of the graduates already holding first degrees and several years commercial experience.”
Information Apps only joined our community recently and already have one of our female graduates working with them.
Their product, criton, allows customers who operate a hotel, serviced apartment or their own holiday home to convert their out of date and grubby guest information book into a high quality, branded app for their guests to download, giving them access to all the information they need to make a success of their a stay on their own device.

Julie Grieve, Founder and CEO of Information Apps, says: “Having had a hard time recruiting my first two developers, I was delighted to use Codeclan’s friendly team to advertise our position and then help arrange interviews, etc. We’re delighted that Becky has now joined our small, but perfectly formed team and we hope to hire another developer shortly. The great thing is that you get someone with life experience, who has actively changed their career and is motivated to continue to learn.”
SEEMIS Group LLP
SEEMiS Group LLP is an Education Management Information System (MIS) provider based in South Lanarkshire.
As the MIS provider for all Local Authority schools in Scotland, all local student data is processed and managed by SEEMiS software offering interfaces with external agencies such as ScotXEd and SQA.
Danny Gallacher, SEEMiSGroupLLP CEO, says: “SEEMiS are embarking on some exciting projects including a major product refresh and also the introduction of online services for parents. As such we’re looking to introduce new talent into the organisation and see the CodeClan course as ideally suited, plus the students have a great attitude.”
