CodeClan has launched a new course, a #techmums Digital Skills Club, which allows mums to dedicate a small amount of time each week, to learn new digital skills, for free.
Professor Sue Black OBE is the Founder of #techmums and CodeClan is the first and only Scottish organisation to partner with #techmums to help empower women through technology.
She said: “Today, it’s easy to see technology as the enemy, whereas in fact it can be life-changing in an incredibly positive way. Our courses help women harness that potential in their own lives, giving them the confidence, skills and inspiration to play an active role in our shared digital future.”
#techmums is here to take the mystery out of technology. Whether it’s helping you to reconnect with old friends via social media, chatting to your child about online safety or finding out how to use technology to help you at work, start your own business or return to work after a career break, CodeClan can help you learn through this new course.
CodeClan CEO, Melinda Matthews-Clarkson was instrumental in bringing this course to Scotland and said: “#techmums is going to offer confidence building, both personally and in using technology, plus learning these new skills will open up opportunities for jobs, hobbies and identifying more with your children.
“I’m really pleased we’re working with Sue and her team, and to give our #techmums the opportunity to learn, for free. Thanks to our sponsor CENSIS for supporting this new initiative.”
You don’t need to know anything about technology to join the course – you’ll need to commit to two hours a week (Tuesdays from 10am-12pm) and we’ll guide you through a huge range of technological possibilities, completely free!
