We offered staff a chance to write their first program in less than an hour.
We were recently approached by one of our employer partners, Registers of Scotland, to take part in Innovation Month, a chance for their staff to explore a number of new digital tools and methodologies in the workplace.
Registers of Scotland are currently undergoing a high-profile digital transformation project, with a number of CodeClan graduates working in their development team, including our 150th placement, Euan Ramsay.
Instructor Zsolt Podoba-Szalai visited Registers’ Glasgow and Edinburgh offices this month to train four groups of 15 staff in the basics of coding, condensing a few days work into just one hour.
The positive response suggested attendees enjoyed the chance to write their first program in Ruby, hopefully inspiring some of them to try coding in their spare time using some free online tools.
Here, Zsolt talks about the class:
Keep an eye on our Eventbrite page for future coding classes, including regular half day coding sessions in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
