Course overview

Ready to take your first steps into coding? Python is a popular, flexible and versatile programming language that’s great for beginners to learn. We’ll take you through the fundamentals of programming and by the end of this course you’ll have the knowledge to start automating simple tasks.

Over four evenings you'll learn:

  • What programming is
  • The tools of the trade. We’ll use the text editor VS Code and show you some basic terminal commands
  • Core programming concepts including variables, data types, control flow and functions
  • How to leverage libraries created by other developers (we’ll be using watchdog & PyAutoGUI)
  • How to build an app to automate tasks and interact with your computer

This course will run via our Virtual Learning Environment, a fully interactive, live learning experience led by our experienced instructors.
