CodeClan’s part-time software development course is designed to give you the skills you need to launch a new career as a professional developer. Ideal for career starters and career changers, this course is suitable for beginners and is an opportunity to fast-track your career in digital. You’ll learn some of the most widely used technologies and methodologies in tech and web development today, while picking up the skills and confidence to gain a role in a new industry.
This part-time course will run from Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 1:00pm, for 20 weeks. So whether you need that extra time for family, work, hobbies or self care, you’ll get the flexibility to train for a new career while maintaining other priorities.

Our curriculum is designed to give you the practical, technical and soft skills to launch a new career as a developer. You’ll learn industry-relevant programming principles and programs, best practices and Agile methodology. During the course, you’ll develop a technical portfolio to demonstrate your new skills to employers and you’ll have the option to complete a PDA in Software Development (level 8) from the SQA.
Three weeks of self-directed learning in basics such as typing speed, common tools and terminology. This helps everyone in the cohort start at the same basic level.
Many of our cohorts are in high demand, so we encourage you to apply as early as possible. You should aim to apply no later than one week before pre-course starts. If you wish to avail of the first round of Digital Start Fund places, you must apply by the extended deadline of 22nd March.

Course price: £6,250. Fully funding places available.
There are currently several funding options, including fully-funding places available for low-income university and college graduates over 25, who have graduated in the past 12 months through the Digital Start Fund. Explore these and other funding options on our funding page.
A deposit of £750 is payable to secure your place once you are accepted, with the remaining fees due before the course begins.
Split your payment into four manageable chunks, first with a deposit of £750, and then three subsequent payments.
Your laptop must be a MacBook Pro with least 8GB RAM and comfortably run the latest operating system. If your laptop is older than 2014 please check with Admissions to see if it is suitable to use. If you would like to hire a laptop from CodeClan, there is a rental fee of £300.
